Rubber hoses for steam conduits (or lines) are designed to withstand high fluids temperatures. Special textile or metallic reinforcements enable hoses to tolerate higher operating pressures.

All components with which the compounds are made of, as well as the processing method, prevent further vulcanisation of the various compounds. The protective outer layer is designed to resist the abrasive action of dragging and the aging caused by light and heat.
